How the ranking works
Bills are the typical dual-fuel, direct-debit figure under the Ofgem default tariff cap for July – September 2026, on medium usage (2,700 kWh electricity / 11,500 kWh gas). Regional differences come almost entirely from distribution-network charges, which the cap sets separately for each of the 14 GB regions; they are not something you can change by switching supplier. The cheapest regions tend to be densely-populated areas where network costs are spread across more customers.
