Warm Home Discount
A statutory rebate for eligible low-income and vulnerable households, usually applied as a credit on the electricity bill. Eligibility rules and the rebate amount are set annually, confirm on gov.uk before assuming you qualify.
Cold Weather Payment
Triggered when temperatures stay at or below a statutory threshold for a defined run of days. It is weather-gated, not bill-gated, a cold spell can trigger payments even when the SVT ceiling is falling.
Winter Fuel Payment
Age-based support historically paid to pensioner households. Rules have tightened; treat any remembered amount as stale until checked against the current gov.uk page.
Supplier hardship funds
Many licensed suppliers run discretionary hardship or debt-write-off schemes. These are not part of the Ofgem cap. Ask your supplier's vulnerability team and keep Citizens Advice / the Energy Ombudsman as escalation paths.
